The town today
Dunnville grew up around the Grand River and its dam, and the river is still at the centre of town life, with fishing, paddling and boating close to downtown. Byng Island Conservation Area, just across the river, offers camping, trails and a large swimming area.
Each year the town hosts the Mudcat Festival, a community celebration named after the local catfish.
Getting around
Dunnville is a drive-to-work community. Hamilton, Niagara and Brantford are all reachable by car, but times depend on where you work, so test the drive before you buy. See the Commuter Guide for the options.
Schools
Public English schools in the area are run by the Grand Erie District School Board, and Catholic English schools by the Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board. French-language boards also serve the area.
School assignments depend on your exact address and can change. Always confirm the assigned schools for a specific property with the school board before you make an offer.
Who tends to look here
Buyers who want river or lake access, a hospital in town and lower prices than the Hamilton area. For current prices and listings, see Jake's Haldimand County page.
